Is cataract surgery painful?

Anaesthetic is used to numb the eye during surgery. Most patients experience little or no pain during the procedure.

How long does cataract surgery take?

The procedure itself is generally relatively short, although additional time is required for preparation and recovery.

Will I still need glasses after cataract surgery?

This depends on your eyes, the lens selected and your visual goals. Some patients will still require glasses for certain activities.

How soon will my vision improve?

Many patients notice improvement relatively soon after surgery, although vision can continue to settle as the eye heals.

When can I drive again?

Dr Chen will advise when it is appropriate to resume driving based on your vision and recovery following surgery.

Can cataracts come back?

The cataract itself does not grow back once the natural lens has been removed.

Which cataract lens is right for me?

Lens selection depends on your eye health, measurements, lifestyle and visual priorities. Dr Chen will discuss suitable options with you during your consultation.
